A purpose built private nursery located in the heart of Evenwood village, Bishop Auckland, County Durham. Based on the principles of a social enterprise venture we are committed to the continued enhancement of the nursery through the reinvestment of surplus funds.
Research findings from the Study of Early Education and Development (SEED) for example, evidences that key characteristics associated with quality early years provision included higher overall staff to child ratio, a higher level of staff qualification, having a staff training plan or budget, a narrower age range and in some cases having specialist SEN/D provision (Melhuish and Gardiner, 2018). All children deserve a high quality early years education and it is our mission to provide it.
“Our task is to help children communicate with the world using all their potential, strengths and languages, and to overcome any obstacle presented by our culture.”Loris Malaguzzi (from the catalogue of the exhibit ‘The Hundred Languages of Children’)
The concept of care and education are inextricably linked.
Children’s play is the essence of their learning.
Good quality requires staff to have sensitive personal contact with children, lots of direct communication and time for cuddles
Partnership collaborations are built on principles of mutual respect and integrity
Honesty and transparency are at the heart of everything we do.
